Stories should entertain, but more importantly they should inform.
When going to the movies becomes more of a distraction than a source of instruction and a vehicle for enlightenment,
then the fundamental purpose of myth has been perverted.

In a world where dreamers are admonished over and over for being "unrealistic,"
doesn't it make sense to question what reality actually is? What if our
fate wasn't bound by the "you-can't-rant" that our parents drilled into
us - and that their parents drilled into them? What if humans were waking
up to their infinite potential of their being and there was a place to
go to realize that potential? There is. It's called
Art is Sacred
Cotatiwood was born out of a deep frustration with the paucity of options available to the modern artist.
As Hollywood and the music business grow increasingly monolithic and corporate-driven, it seems virtually
impossible for talented artists to make a living using their gifts. Soul-sucking day jobs sap precious energy

Myth is Holy
It's also a tool. Cultures use it to clarify
and reinforce common beliefs and form societies. Since we humans are tribal
creatures, we need society to survive. But what happens when our culture's
myths no longer support our well-being? What happens when the stories
we tell ourselves -- in films and on TV --
are actually beginning to threaten our existence? When coporate boardrooms
at gargantuan entertainment conglomerates don't understand the emerging
spiritual needs of our species? What do we do? We go to Cotatiwood, of
course, and consciously rewrite the story of our culture.
