Mini-Rant

Stories should entertain, but more importantly they should inform. When going to the movies becomes more of a distraction than a source of instruction and a vehicle for enlightenment, then the fundamental purpose of myth has been perverted.

"You didn't listen to me."

In a world where dreamers are admonished over and over for being "unrealistic," doesn't it make sense to question what reality actually is? What if our fate wasn't bound by the "you-can't-rant" that our parents drilled into us - and that their parents drilled into them? What if humans were waking up to their infinite potential of their being and there was a place to go to realize that potential? There is. It's called

Art is Sacred

Cotatiwood was born out of a deep frustration with the paucity of options available to the modern artist. As Hollywood and the music business grow increasingly monolithic and corporate-driven, it seems virtually impossible for talented artists to make a living using their gifts. Soul-sucking day jobs sap precious energy

"Anybody seen my soul?"
that otherwise would be put towards the sacred act of creating. In challenging times such as these, artists should be the heralds of hope, guiding humanity into new ways of being - not working for minimum wage. Cotatiwood's mission is to restore art and the artist to their rightful place in our culture. To this end, we develop and produce visionary creative work, as well as train the artist to operate at his or her maximum potential.

Myth is Holy

It's also a tool. Cultures use it to clarify and reinforce common beliefs and form societies. Since we humans are tribal creatures, we need society to survive. But what happens when our culture's myths no longer support our well-being? What happens when the stories we tell ourselves -- in films and on TV -- are actually beginning to threaten our existence? When coporate boardrooms at gargantuan entertainment conglomerates don't understand the emerging spiritual needs of our species? What do we do? We go to Cotatiwood, of course, and consciously rewrite the story of our culture.
